My video is too big — how do I shrink it?

Trim it. Use your phone's gallery editor to cut the clip to only the important seconds — this helps the most.
Send at lower resolution. 720p is plenty; you don't need 4K. Most phones let you choose export quality when sharing.
Share-to-compress trick. Sending the video to yourself in a messaging app (e.g. "Saved Messages"), then saving it again, gives a much smaller compressed copy.
On a computer: the free tool HandBrake (preset "Fast 720p30") typically shrinks videos 5–10×.
